Byron and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary yesterday.
For those of you who follow me on facebook, you saw the pictures I posted throughout the day, highlighting some of the memories of our decade together. I decided to compile it all in a blog post, for my friends who are not on facebook.
After dating only 10 weeks, we got engaged, and 6 weeks after that we got married. It was the best decision I ever made!!!
2005 was a busy year: a wedding, moving 3 times, expecting a baby, and lots of travel!
2006: we moved again… twice. (San Angelo, TX to Spring Hill, TN to Ft. Campbell, KY) Byron started jumping out of airplanes. And we welcomed Connor into the world!
2007: We moved again, this time becoming homeowners. Byron deployed for the first time to Iraq.
2008: Byron returned from Iraq briefly for the birth of our baby girl Lia, then returned for a few more months overseas. Then finally he came home in the summer! We traveled a little, but mostly just had lots of family time!
2009: Byron deployed to Iraq again! We found out we were pregnant again once he was already over there. Surprising news for him!
2010: Our last full year in Tennessee – and our sweet baby Sophie was born!
2011: Big year! We moved across the big pond to Germany! This year we visited 8 US states and 4 foreign countries.
2012: Busy year! We visited TEN countries – but more importantly, had a bouncing baby Finn!
2013: Visited 4 countries, including Croatia & Bosnia WITHOUT kids (which was amazing). Byron also got accepted into seminary and the Chaplain Candidacy Program, setting us up for the next big phase of our lives!
2014: Another BIG year! We left active duty Army, Byron became a 2LT in the Reserves, I got a TEN THOUSAND dollar bonus from It Works, we moved back to the USA, paid CASH (!!!$$$!!!) for a house, Byron started studying to be a pastor in seminary, and we visited 4 countries and 9 states!
2015: Ten years!
The grand total of our adventures equaled 4 children, 8 moves, 21 countries, 26 US states, and countless blessings. Who knew we would come full circle and end up in the very town where we started? I’m excited to see what God has in store for us for the next 10 years, and the 10 after that, and the 10 after that…
