SunWatch Indian Village

We’ve been studying Native Americans in History class lately. I know that this area is just brimming with Native American history, so I took advantage of the opportunity to go see a real Native American village to help our studies sink in. We headed out to SunWatch Indian Village in Dayton, about 2 hours south of where we live. And Byron’s cousin lives in that area too, so she was able to join us with her twin boys. IMG_2463 IMG_2464 IMG_2466 IMG_2467 IMG_2470 IMG_2471 IMG_2473 IMG_2474 IMG_2475 IMG_2477 IMG_2481 IMG_2484 IMG_2489 IMG_2490 IMG_2491 IMG_2494 IMG_2503I loved that the place was so hands-on, with huts and artifacts that the kids could touch and explore. I do wish there was more to see, as the place was pretty sparse. What you see in the picture above (3 huts) was about it, plus the museum and gift shop inside.

Overall, it was a fun day for all the kids!
